Whale’s Tale Toysis a proud member of Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS)! Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada is a network of independent specialty toy stores across Canada, owned by parents and grandparents.
We are toy experts! That’s all we sell. We are committed to quality, stocking only those toys and games thatwe would welcome into our own homes.
As toy store owners we personally select each of the products we put on our store shelves. We can tell you what we like about each of these, what type of child will get the most out of the various items we sell, and what other parents have to say about their child’s experience with a particular product.
We exercise kids’ muscles, minds and imaginations! We also offer a unique shopping experience. We have all the time in the world for you; to ask what brought you into the store today; to play with your kids while you shop: to chat with you about what’s new in the ‘hood’; to demonstrate the latest products for you; to share product feedback from other parents; and to make suitable suggestions and recommendations based on what you are looking for and whom you are shopping for.
In addition to all of this, we make valuable social and economic contributions to preserving the existence of uniquely individual neighbourhoods and communities across Canada.
We keep kids and communities active, healthy and growing. Each time you shop at a local independent specialty toy store, you invest in the future of your neighbourhood and community.
Our passion is play. Our commitment is quality. Our promise is excellence.
Gold Star Awards
Each year Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS) retailers award a ‘Gold Star’ to 10 play products that have proven to offer ‘exceptional’ play value. These are the toys and games that kids return to again and again. They are announced each fall and featured in the annual Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS) Catalogue.
Each year Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS) produces a Holiday Season Catalogue to give parents insights into the latest quality toys and to allow kids to ‘guide’ their parents by building their ‘Wish Lists’ from this!
